8 Ajmaq

Today our human consciousness has the opportunity for growth in forgiveness and personal service.
The key to this growth is by a search for expression and transmission.
Ajmaq has to do with your mind expanding and becoming illuminated. Meanings of Power 8 include authority and materialism.
Ajmaq was a day when people living in the Mayan social structure would reflect on their lives, make offerings and apologies, and hear wisdom from the Elders. Ask your ancestors to guide you with their wisdom today. Be very mindful of forgiveness, being humble, and feeling grateful, especially to the Earth, our Mother.
This is only a reference as to what day of the Cholq'ij calendar aligns with our familiar Gregorian dates.
For more information, buy the book by Mayan elder Carlos Barrios, books by Mayan Daykeeper Denise Barrios, or any other books regarding this Sacred Calendar.

  1. i feel our Western society has no parallel to the concept of the day of Ajmaq. Imagine everyone in the community, every 20 days, pausing to assess their lives in general and in particular each 20 day period. Imagine everyone now humbly realizing all the transgressions we committed and taking responsibility by atoning for them. Imagine we did this not only towards our fellow man but also towards Earth.
