8 Ajmaq

Today, our human consciousness has the opportunity for growth in our forgiveness and personal service.
The key to this growth is through our search for expression and transmission.
The glyph that depicts Ajmaq is representing the mind in a state of forgiveness and illumination. It is a brain with rays, lines of expansion, reaching out in all directions. It is the Wisdom of the Elders, fruit of thirst for knowledge and experience. In this way, Ajmaq transmits the virtue of a long honorable existence but is a day for repentence, forgiveness, and reconciliation with the Great Father. It allows us to recognize our innermost essence and degree of spiritual evolution. Power 8 stands for authority, ambition, and materialism. It brings excellent opportunities in the financial area.
Today your ancestors offer you the best of their experience and wisdom. Feel the profound and indelible connection between you, and ask them to guide you and send you the answers that you need. Mitigate your mistakes through community service.
This is only a reference, meant to track the sacred days of the Cholq'ij calendar in reference to the dates normally used. For more information, buy The Book of Destiny  by Mayan Elder and Ajq'ij Carlos Barrios, and books by Ajq'ij Denise Barrios and Denise DePena.

  1. In old times, the Mayan people held Ajmaq as a day of reflection, over your life, the past year, and the past 20 days in particular. It was a day for staying at home. The exceptions, going out to make offerings and apologies to those you have wronged (and also to the Earth), and/or going to the places where the wise Elders would speak, and they could be heard sharing their teachings with the communities on this day.
