Today is the first day of the Cholq'ij Sacred Calendar. During this day the Ajq'ijab -spiritual guides- and the members of the Maya community meet to perform a Ceremony of Gratitude to the Ajaw and to ask Him for blessings for this new cycle. Light 20 candles and connect through their energy with the hundreds of Sacred Fires that are lit today in all of the Sacred Maya altars.
